The song "Es kam ein Herr am Schlössli" is a lullaby from Switzerland. It can be found in the Collection of Swiss Carvings and Folk Songs under the title "Lullaby". The story is about a gentleman riding to a castle and asking the Lady if her children are nice or naughty. The Lady answers that they are naughty. Then the gentleman rides away and answers that he would have had presents for nice children. Questions arise like: who is this man? Why would he have presents for nice children? Why would you sing this to children going to sleep? Hence the title: Sleep Well with a dark sarcastic undertone.

Es kam ein Herr zum Schlößli
Uff emma beautiful Rossli;
That means that the woman is open to the window and says: the man is not in the house.
S'isch niemer d'heim als d'Chinder und's Meitli uf der Winde.
The Lord of His Own Rossli
see about the women in Schlößli

Sincerely Chind, sincerely Chind, ah liebi Frau, sagt mir's history! Die Frau, die seit: 's since bösi Chind,
