Soaring the Sky - Brass Band

Soaring the Sky is a short work in a typical brass band style with light music influences. It conveys a feeling of freedom: the sensation of floating in total harmony with your surroundings. Soaring literally means flying without propulsion, it also means rising to unprecedented heights.

This work is best performed in a special arrangement, with the cornets facing each other, standing behind the saxhorns, the trombones standing behind the basses. For the best effect, a drum kit can be placed in the middle of the band. In this way, the antiphonal character comes into its own.
