Last Wednesday evening (July 19, 2023) I said goodbye to Soli Brass. I did this to spend more time with my family and to focus on my conducting, composing and business.
I played at the club for 10 years, which I have many fond memories of. Think of the NBKs, Dutch Opens, concerts, CD recordings and many other things. But especially of 2021 when we became champions and the European Championship of 2023 in Malmö, where I was able to cross something off the bucket list.
To thank the band for the good times and a memory of all the beautiful things we experienced together, I wrote a farewell gift. That became A Fond Farewell , this means a heartfelt farewell. In the future we will certainly meet again, but for now I will use the time that is freed up. The work does not shy away from any brass band cliché and is impressive to hear due to the chosen key, but not very difficult to play.
