The Call is based on the text of Isaiah 43:
“Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the water, I will be with you; and if you go through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
If you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you on fire.
For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Redeemer;
Although the piece is a rendering of this text, it is also a tribute to young people who have been taken from life too soon. In this way the piece is a celebration of life and the Lord.
