Romanze Op. 26 in G Dur was written by the Norse composer, conductor and music pedagogue Johan Severin Svendsen in 1881. This solo for violin and orchestra is one of hisĀ better-known works. His romantic style and Scandinavian-like melodies are clearly reflected in this work.

This version is ideal to accompany a violinist with a brass band. By using a warm orchestration in the band, the soloist can easily come to the fore and go to the musical limit.
